HI, I'M mrs. Maple!
If you ask Mrs. Maple why she loves teaching first grade, she’ll probably tell you that no two days are ever quite the same — and that’s exactly the way she likes it.
Mrs. Maple is the caring, patient, and encouraging teacher of Room 101. She knows that every child who walks through her classroom door brings something special with them. Some arrive ready to tell her everything that happened before 8:00 in the morning. Some have a hundred questions. Some need a little extra encouragement, and some are already making everyone laugh before the school day has officially begun.
Mrs. Maple wouldn’t have it any other way.
She believes a classroom should be a place where children feel comfortable asking questions, trying something new, making mistakes, helping one another, and discovering just how much they are capable of doing.
Of course, managing 26 very different first graders takes a healthy dose of patience — and a good sense of humor. Mrs. Maple has learned to expect the unexpected. A perfectly planned lesson may take an interesting detour, a missing pencil can become a classroom mystery, and sometimes the very best learning happens when nobody planned it at all.
More than anything, Mrs. Maple wants the kids of Room 101 to know that they belong. She celebrates their successes, encourages them through the tricky parts, and reminds them that being a good classmate matters just as much as getting the right answer.
Reading, writing, math, friendship, kindness, confidence, curiosity — there’s always something growing in Room 101.
And Mrs. Maple wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
